The Women’s Venture Capital Summit is once again returning to Half Moon Bay in February 2024. Since its inception in 2022, it has quickly built a reputation as a key, must attend conference for women in the sector.
Joined by CalPERS as they return to venture
For essentially a decade, under-allocation to private equity has been a significant headwind for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System's performance - the nation’s largest public pension fund. As part of the long-term comprehensive strategy launched over a year ago, CalPERS is now ramping up its investing in this asset class, and with it its expose to venture capital.
With plans to increase their allocation, we are excited to welcomeVicky Ullrich, Investment Officer at the pension fund, as one of this year's Keynote Speakers. In her engaging fireside chat Vicky will discuss CalPERS’ return to VC, what it is looking to do and how it is deploying capital – both to established funds and emerging ones.
“The insight and connections at this event will serve us for years to come!”
Now in its third year, we expect to bring together 450 leading women in the venture capital space - LPs, GPs, and advisors to the industry . Representative of the venture ecosystem, they attend to have candid conversations, to make connections and build relationships that will be key to raising new funds, finding deals and generating liquidity events.
It is the room to be in for any women looking to succeed in venture capital.
