Honoring Ruulke Bagijn as our 2025 Trailblazer

We were thrilled to honor Ruulke Bagijn as the 2025 Trailblazer at our 4th Women’s Private Equity Summit Europe. A respected leader in the industry, Ruulke is Global Head of Carlyle AlpInvest. 

Ruulke has been a builder of transformative investment platforms throughout her career. At PGGM, she founded the firm’s private equity investment business and, as Co-CIO and CIO for Private Markets, oversaw €40 billion across private equity, infrastructure, hedge funds, and real assets. 

She leads Carlyle’s AlpInvest, managing circa $100 billion in assets and guiding a team of nearly 270 professionals worldwide. Beyond these professional milestones, Ruulke has been a steadfast advocate for women in private equity as founding chair of Level 20 Netherlands, serving on Carlyle’s Diversity & Inclusion Council, and working to open more pathways for women to achieve senior leadership roles. Ruulke was also named a Wall Street Journal Pro PE "Woman to Watch."
